Who/what is Inisol?
Inisol, Initiatiefgroep Solvay, is an association composed of master students in Business Engineering attached to the Solvay Business School (VUB). Inisol's activities can be divided into three areas.
Practical experience
As a Business Engineering student, it is becoming increasingly important to enter the job market with a complete set of skills. Inisol contributes to this by organizing practical, hands-on activities that complement theoretical courses.
One way we help students build their network is by organizing our annual Job & Internship Fair, which will take place this year on October 29, 2024. At the fair, students will have the chance to connect with both large and small companies from a variety of sectors, aiding in their search for internships or their first jobs. Additionally, during our Dine & Connect event in the second semester, students will have the opportunity for more personal, one-on-one conversations with companies, allowing for deeper engagement and the chance to ask specific questions.
Secondly, through practical workshops, a business game, and other events are organized to further develop a wide range of soft and hard skills.
Thirdly, there is the Trade Mission, a fully integrated course at the faculty. This year marks the 34th edition, with destinations in Egypt and Tanzania. During this three-week mission, a group of around thirty master's students will each carry out a specific assignment for a participating company under direct academic supervision. The Trade Mission can be valuable for your company for many reasons, such as market research, marketing mix analysis, identifying potential suppliers and customers, exploring strategic opportunities, site engineering, and more. You can find more information about the Trade Mission here.
Professional network
Inisol supports the professional relationships between Business Engineering students and the corporate world. Throughout the year, we organize various networking events and activities to help enhance your skills. These events provide the perfect opportunity for students to get acquainted with different companies, resulting in positive outcomes for both parties. Naturally, our Job and Internship Fair, as well as the Dine and Connect event, offer ideal moments to establish connections between students and businesses.
Guidance
Our students are at the heart of our organization and are our most important stakeholders. Before, during, and after their studies, we provide them with valuable information through newsletters, brochures, and various events. Even before starting the business engineering program, students get to know Inisol through our Solvay Promotion Group (SPG). This group is responsible for promoting the Solvay Business School faculty and ensures that prospective students are well-informed during information days and SID-in fairs. For any questions or issues, you can always reach them at prspg@inisol.com.
Additionally, there is the Solvay Scholarship Cup, a competition designed to excite high school seniors about studying business engineering. The main prizes are enticing: they cover the tuition for one year of business engineering at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Participants also have the opportunity to connect with current students and professors of the program, allowing them to ask all their questions.
If you are interested in the business engineering program at VUB, we recommend checking out the brochure. To truly get a feel for studying on campus, attend the open classes during the February break, where you can sit in on lessons from the programs that interest you.
Finally, students receive information from young professionals through special alumni events, and we maintain contact with our graduates.
The Inisol Board 2024-2025 wishes all business engineering students and our partners a productive year and a successful professional career.
